Legal notice and Terms of use and sale

Version 2026-10-12 · In force from 12 October 2026

Hosting

ouste.space website and licence server: Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, United States.

Payments: Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Dublin, Ireland.

Ouste uses no third-party database: subscription status is kept by Stripe.

2. Purpose and acceptance

These terms govern the use of the Ouste app for macOS (the "Software"), of the ouste.space website, and the purchase of the Ouste Plus subscription.

Installing and using the Software means accepting the terms of use (sections 3 to 6 and 10 to 14). Subscribing to Ouste Plus means accepting the terms of sale (sections 7 to 9). The applicable version is the one in force at installation or subscription. It can be read and downloaded at any time on ouste.space.

3. The Software

Ouste measures the disk space and memory used by coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and others) and by development tools: conversations, worktrees, caches, dependencies, Docker images, Xcode build products, forgotten dev servers. Every item gets one of four levels (Safe, Review, Caution, Protected) and one sentence describing the consequence of removing it.

Nothing is deleted until the user has reviewed it. Safe items are deleted; selected Review and Caution items are moved to a 7-day quarantine and can be restored, except when a third-party tool (git, Docker, Xcode) removes them itself, which the review states. Protected items cannot be selected. Every cleanup produces a receipt and a line in a local log.

Ouste helps you decide. The consequences it shows describe the Mac at the time of the scan. The user alone decides what to delete. Ouste is not a backup: the user is encouraged to keep one (Time Machine or equivalent).

4. Access and requirements

The Software runs on macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel. The free features need no account and no internet connection. Full Disk Access, granted in macOS System Settings, is optional: without it some categories cannot be measured, and the Software says so.

The publisher uses reasonable means to keep the Software and the licence server working, without guaranteeing uninterrupted operation. Updates may fix, change or remove a feature; they are offered within the Software.

5. Free features

With no time limit and no account, the Software lets you:

  • scan all eight categories;
  • clean up manually, with the four levels and the review sheet;
  • quarantine and restore;
  • read the receipt and log of every cleanup;
  • check the Mac’s Health (memory, forgotten servers);
  • archive agent conversations before they are deleted.

6. User obligations

The user agrees to:

  • use the Software only on Macs they are entitled to administer;
  • read the review sheet before confirming a cleanup;
  • not bypass the licence check, nor resell or transfer access to Ouste Plus;
  • not decompile or modify the Software, except where the law or the open-source licence of a component allows it.

7. Ouste Plus

Content. Ouste Plus adds to the free features:

  • The Guardian: automatic rules that the user turns on, each action being written to a log;
  • Memory: search across the conversations of every agent, indexed on the Mac;
  • the menu bar panel;
  • the features announced as part of Plus, as they are released.

Trial. The first time the Software is opened, Ouste Plus is available free for 7 days, with no card and no account. When the trial ends, the Plus features pause: nothing is deleted, settings and the Memory index stay on the Mac.

Subscription. Ouste Plus is a monthly or yearly subscription, taken out from the Software. It renews automatically at each due date until cancelled. One subscription can be activated on up to three Macs.

Cancellation. The user can cancel at any time from the Software (Settings › Ouste Plus › Manage subscription) or by writing to contact@ouste.space. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; the free features remain available.

8. Price and payment

Ouste Plus costs €4.99 per month or €39 per year, all taxes included. The applicable price is the one shown at subscription.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Adeo Consulting neither receives nor stores any card data. An invoice is sent by email at each due date.

Any price change is announced at least 30 days in advance and only applies from the next due date; the user can cancel before then.

If a payment or activation fails, do not subscribe a second time: write to contact@ouste.space, without ever sending card details.

9. Right of withdrawal

Consumers have 14 days from subscription to withdraw, without giving a reason. When they expressly ask for access to Ouste Plus to start immediately, they acknowledge, under articles L221-25 and L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, that the share of the service already provided at withdrawal remains due, or that the right of withdrawal can no longer be exercised once the service has been fully performed.

This consent is collected at payment and confirmed on the invoice.

Commercial commitment beyond the law: after a first payment, the user can ask contact@ouste.space for a full refund of the current period within 14 days, without giving a reason.

Withdrawal form: "To Adeo Consulting (Ouste), contact@ouste.space: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from the contract for the Ouste Plus subscription, taken out on [date], in the name of [name], billing email [email]. Date and signature (if sent on paper)."

10. Legal guarantees

The user benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (articles L224-25-12 to L224-25-26 of the French Consumer Code). In case of non-conformity, they can obtain conformity and, failing that, a price reduction or termination of the contract. Requests go to contact@ouste.space.

11. Liability

The publisher has an obligation of means. It cannot be held liable for:

  • the deletion of an item that the user confirmed after the review sheet, including after the quarantine has expired;
  • data loss in the absence of a backup;
  • the behaviour of a third-party tool (git, Docker, Xcode, a coding agent) run at the user’s request;
  • unavailability caused by the connection, the user’s Mac or force majeure.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law grants consumers, nor the publisher’s liability for gross negligence or personal injury.

12. Intellectual property

The Software, its brand, texts, visuals and code belong to the publisher, except open-source components, which remain under their own licence. The user receives a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right of use.

The user keeps all rights to their files and conversations. The Software reads them only on the Mac, and only as needed for scanning, cleaning and Memory (see the Privacy policy).

13. Term, uninstalling and end of service

The user can uninstall the Software at any time. Local data (log, receipts, quarantine, Memory index) stays on their Mac until they delete it; its locations are listed in the Privacy policy. Uninstalling the Software does not cancel the subscription.

If the publisher permanently discontinues Ouste Plus, subscribers are notified by email at least 30 days in advance, and the unused part of yearly subscriptions is refunded pro rata. Free features already installed keep working.

14. Changes to these terms

The publisher may update these terms. Any substantial change is notified at least 30 days before it takes effect. Subscription periods already paid remain governed by the version accepted at payment.

15. Complaints, mediation and governing law

Any complaint goes first to contact@ouste.space. The publisher replies within 14 days.

If no agreement is reached within 2 months of the written complaint, consumers can refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator: CM2C, Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice, 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France, www.cm2c.net.

These terms are governed by French law. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence. Failing an amicable settlement, the competent courts are those designated by law.

Less noise. More control.
